AI employee scheduling that uses your rules

AI employee scheduling only works when the assistant is bound to the real roster and the real rules. Schedultary exposes that as an MCP server at https://schedultary.com/mcp and as an HTTP API. A signed-in admin connects Claude, ChatGPT, Gemini, Grok, Perplexity, Muse, or any other client that can call a remote MCP server. The assistant acts as that person. It reads before it writes. Changes save immediately, pass the same checks as the website, and show in Activity under the app or key name. Read Only can look and cannot change anything.

What you can ask on the first day

Ask who it is acting as. Ask what issues the current schedule has. Ask it to generate the next unpublished month or the next unpublished residency year. Ask it to approve a request you have already chosen. Ask it to explain a cell. If it cannot use MCP, it can follow the named flows in agents.json against the OpenAPI document at /openapi.json.

What it will not do unprompted

It does not publish while coverage or a mandatory rule is broken. It does not replace an existing draft unless you confirm that replacement. It does not regenerate a published residency year. It does not send email or text unless you explicitly ask for a send that the product already knows how to send. Rate limit is 600 calls every 10 minutes per app or key.

  1. Step 1

    Connect

Add https://schedultary.com/mcp in the assistant, sign in, and pick the workplace and Admin or Read Only.

  2. Step 2

    Identify

Tell it to start with whoami so it names the workplace, the person, and whether it may change anything.

  3. Step 3

    Ask for one outcome

Generate a draft, decide a request, or explain an issue. Read the result in the website before you publish.

Questions

Which assistants can connect?

Any client that supports a remote MCP server with OAuth, plus scripts that send an API key. Setup steps for the major assistants are on the connect page.

Can an employee's assistant request time off?

Yes. Their connection files their own request. It does not approve it.

Is the API key the same as a calendar link?

No. A calendar link only subscribes that person to published shifts. An API key or OAuth grant is what lets an assistant act.
