A call schedule with counts you can show
A call schedule is who holds short call, the weekend, and the holiday, on top of the rotation they are already on. Schedultary builds that after the rotation grid, for an unpublished year. You set which rotations are exempt, which call types exist, and the caps. Fairness is the count of call, weekends, and holidays. A minimum that is short is Must Fix. A floor that has been met may still take extra days. Residents can rank holidays. Those rankings lock on the date you set.
Call follows the rotation rules
A rotation can keep its people off call or off a single kind of call. Night float can be barred from sitting back to back. A person on leave is not given call. You add a call day by person and date when you want a manual seat. You can still generate the rest.
Explain a weekend
When someone asks why they have a particular weekend, the cell can be explained from the rule and the counts. An assistant with admin access can read the issues and propose a smaller fix. It does not publish and does not regenerate a published year.
Questions
Does call include attendings?
Attending call is the service-and-call starter, not the resident year grid. Use the setup that matches who is being scheduled.
Can residents request call trades?
They can file requests, including days off. You decide. A shop-style shift swap is the workplace tool. Program changes go through the year.
Will generating call wipe rotations?
Generate fills an unpublished year. A published year returns an error and is not rewritten.
