A fair employee schedule you can show the team

A fair employee schedule is one the team can inspect. Schedultary considers every request in the same pass, then keeps load and Saturday-Sunday balance visible. There is no secret 0 to 100 score. Hard rules stop illegal placements. Soft rules push evenness without blocking a legal draft. For a residency, fairness is call, weekend, and holiday counts. A shortfall against a minimum is a Must Fix while extra assignments above a floor are allowed.

Fairness is counts, not a grade

Managers get asked why one person worked more Saturdays. The answer is on the schedule: the counts, the requests that were honored, and the rule that forced a placement. Worth a Look marks a soft miss. Must Fix marks a hard miss. You can publish with a soft miss still open. You cannot publish through a mandatory conflict.

Holiday rankings lock

People rank holidays they value having off. Rank 1 is the day they most want off. Unranked is neutral. The ranking for a year locks on the date you set, by default 1 December of the year before. An admin can reopen one person's ranking for a single save.

Questions

Does fair mean everyone works the same number of shifts?

Even load is a soft pressure. Employment fraction, skills, approved time off, and hard rules all change what even looks like. The counts stay visible so you can explain the difference.

Can a soft rule block a publish?

No. Soft rules advise. Hard rules and coverage minimums are what stop a publish.

How does a residency show fairness?

Call, weekend, and holiday counts are the record. A minimum that is short is Must Fix. A floor that has been met can still take extra assignments.
