Shift swap software with a rule check and your approval

Shift swap software should not be a side chat. In Schedultary a person asks, the rules are checked, you approve or deny, and the roster updates. Swap counts stay visible. The same hard rules that block a generated placement block a swap, including time off and overlapping duties. Coworkers offered a trade are people who can actually take the shift.

The path of a swap

An employee proposes a swap from their account. Eligible coworkers can answer. You decide. A denied swap leaves the roster as it was. An approved swap moves the assignment. Employees can cancel their own open proposal. Nothing about a swap is emailed to the whole company unless you already use a notification you turned on for that person.

Assistants follow the same gate

An admin assistant can list swaps and record the decision you asked for. A Read Only connection can see them and cannot decide. The activity log names the app or the key.

Questions

Can two employees swap without me?

They can propose and answer. The roster updates when you approve, after the rules pass.

What stops a bad swap?

The same hard rules as the generator: time off, overlap, skills, supervisor requirements, and any other hard rule you saved.

Do swap counts affect the next month?

Counts stay visible so you can see who has been trading. How strongly that affects the next draft depends on the soft rules you leave on.
