A family medicine residency schedule with clinic continuity
A family medicine residency schedule has to protect clinic continuity while inpatient, obstetric, and pediatric blocks still happen. Schedultary's starter includes that mix across three class years. An x-y calendar can keep the ambulatory rotation in the clinic slots. You edit how many inpatient blocks each class needs. The starter does not fill those numbers from another specialty.
Clinic is a rotation, not a favor
Put clinic in the ambulatory slots of the pattern you chose and set whether vacation is a good fit there. Inpatient and obstetric time are separate rotations with their own class rules. Electives fill the gaps.
Requests and fairness
Residents can ask for a block, for vacation, and for a co-resident. You approve what Generate should honor. Call and weekend counts stay visible so a continuity clinic is not quietly paired with every hard weekend.
Questions
Can obstetric time be optional?
Yes. Leave the requirement off or keep it as a soft gate until you are ready to enforce it.
Does clinic continuity mean the same half-day every block?
The x-y pattern is how the starter expresses recurring clinic. You set the lengths.
Can a resident's assistant file vacation?
A resident's own connection can file their request. An admin decides it. The request does not approve itself.
