An internal medicine residency schedule from a starter you edit

An internal medicine residency schedule in Schedultary starts as three class years and a catalog of wards, ICU, clinic, and core consults. The counts are not a hidden accreditation file. You edit them. Clinic continuity can sit on an x-y pattern when you use that calendar. Night float is limited so two night blocks do not sit back to back unless you change that rule. Generate fills an unpublished year after requests are in.

Wards and clinic are different rotations

Each rotation has its own class limits and its own capacity. A ward month can require a different headcount than a consult. Electives fill the blocks the requirements do not claim. You can leave a requirement empty rather than publish a number you have not chosen.

Requests residents actually send

Vacation, a block on a particular service, days off, and a co-resident request are separate. Approved plans are what Generate uses. A request is filed against the academic year of its dates, even if you are planning the next year on screen.

Questions

Does the starter include a chief resident?

No. The general structure does not preload chiefs. Add that person and that rule if your program has them.

Can I import last year's blocks?

Yes, into a draft year. An existing block calendar is not rebuilt by the import.

How are nights handled?

Night float rotations are in the catalog, with a ban on back-to-back night float until you edit it.
