A general surgery residency schedule across five class years
A general surgery residency schedule runs longer than a three-year catalog. Schedultary's starter uses five class years and rotations for wards, the operating room, ICU, trauma, and nights. You edit every count. A junior class and a senior class can be barred from the same rotation or required to pass through it at different times. Generate fills an unpublished year. It will not rewrite a year you have already published.
Five years, empty until you fill them
Class labels can be PGY or your own names. Requirements can be for one class or across the residency. A rotation's capacity is how many residents it can hold in a block, which you set. Leave it blank and the schedule will not invent a census.
Nights and call
Nights are their own rotation in the catalog. Call on other rotations is configured separately, with exemptions where a service should not also take call. Weekend and holiday counts stay on the review.
Questions
Can a research year be a rotation?
Yes. Add it, mark who may sit it, and decide whether it takes call.
How do I stop a service from being all juniors?
Set class limits and a capacity. A violation comes back as an issue on the draft.
Can I import a spreadsheet of last year's assignments?
Yes. Review it into a draft year. Existing blocks stay as they are.
