Time off requests in one window, not a pile of texts

Time off requests belong in the schedule, not in a thread. Schedultary opens a request window. Employees file availability, time off, and standing asks. Reminders go out before the deadline. The generate step reads that full set with your rules. A request can be time off, a preference to work or not work, a heads-up, a half day, leaving early, or arriving late. You approve or deny. Ignored approved time off is a hard problem, not a suggestion.

People without an account can still ask

Join the Roster and Ask for Time Off Without an Account share one link. Someone with that link can request time off without first being a full account, within the dates and reasons you exposed. Turning a link off stops it. Deleting it removes it permanently. The public link does not reveal who is working.

Residents ask by the academic year

A residency request is labeled with the academic year its dates belong to. Vacation, days off, a co-resident, and holiday rankings are separate from a shop time-off row. An admin decides them. Approved plans are what Generate uses.

Questions

Can I close requests before the deadline?

Yes. Closing stops intake and tells staff. You can reopen before the original deadline.

What if someone already has a shift that day?

Approved time off is a hard constraint. A generated or swapped shift on that day is a violation, not a quiet overlap.

Can an assistant file time off for an employee?

An employee connection can file that person's own request. It does not approve itself. An admin connection can record the decision you asked for.
